Great value for money, especially if you're after an authentic Moroccan experience. The location makes exploring the Medina easy, with a main entry gate just a block away.
The cleanliness of shared areas could use some attention. For instance, the pool wasn't cleaned , accumulating bugs and debris. The atmosphere felt lacking with thin walls allowing for noise from other guests, and a requested iron took longer than expected to arrive.

It was an amazing stay - everything was perfect from A to Z (and I am a very fussy person and don't say these things too often) ! Great and warm staff and owners, utterly brilliant service, amazing surroundings, authentic interior with finest attention to detail. Amazing value for money! Owners of the Riad helped us a lot and organised taxi to/from Airport, gave a number of tips, places to visit, things to do around Marrakesh. If you wish to have a pleasant stay in a quiet Oasis tucked in buzzing Marrakesh - Riad Chafia is your best shot. I would highly recommend this place to all my friends, family, colleagues and everyone else who would like to have a fab time in Marrakesh.

We loved Riad Chafia! After traveling for more than seven months straight, I can honestly say this was the best accommodation that we've had. The staff are very welcoming and you get well looked after. Breakfast is great and the atmosphere in the Riad is very relaxing after spending a day in the bustling parts of the Medina. The interior design is very tasteful and special.

The breakfast on the balcony was a highlight, especially the delicious glazed cakes! Youseff and the team.
For summertime, it would be nice to have some parasol umbrellas by the sunbeds on the rooftop. The scent of the Medina occasionally wafted into our room, but that's part of staying in such a vibrant place.

Patrick, the owner, and his staff, were sociable and helpful. He e- mailed before our trip to ask whether we wanted him to arrange a taxi from the airport, which took the hassle out of our arrival. We had a double- bedded room with spacious shower/toilet facilities in the Morrocan style with polished mottled rose pink plaster walls, beaten brass wash basin and a huge metal framed mirror. The bed was comfortable and storage space adequate. Patrick served our continental breakfast on the pretty terrace rooftop every morning so we could enjoy the sunshine. We also had a view of an impressive minaret and got up to hear the 5.30 - 6.00am calls to prayer from the surrounding mosques. The riad was in a quiet area but only a few steps away from the alleys leading through the souks to Jemaa-El-Fnaa. Riad Chafia is an oasis of calm in a hectic city and good value for money.
No dislikes actually but it would have been nice to have coffee/tea- making facilities in the room, as I like to drink lots of good-old granulated coffee. We didn't try out the small jaccuzi. I expect this is in high demand in the summer time. There were 5 guest rooms in the riad and people must bear in mind that sound does carry internally. Alcohol is not available for purchase or consumption within the medina (although one or two restaurants offer it). We managed to find a couple of supermarkets and purchased wine to take back to the riad. Mike and Marnie, Hayling Island, uk.

A lovely week in a perfect location - the Riad Chafia is an oasis of calm, quiet and beautiful design in the absolute heart of Marrakesh's Medina district, an ideal place to go back to after a hectic day. The French-born owner Patrick - whose English, by the way, is flawless - was kind, helpful and knowledgeable throughout, recommending and arranging trips for us, offering advice on haggling and generally doing everything possible to make sure we had a nice stay. We were very sad to leave; if I'm lucky enough to go back to Marrakesh, I can't imagine staying anywhere else.
We found the bed a little hard, but when we mentioned it, Patrick sorted the problem immediately. Other than that, perfect!

The serene courtyard with a plunge pool was a perfect escape after bustling market days. Breakfast on the terrace, especially the pancakes, was a good start to each morning.

The staff was helpful with figuring out taxis and excursions and mapping out the medina. The terrace was peaceful. Great location. The food was really good. It was our favorite tagine in all of Morocco! They were accommodating and friendly to our small children. It was a perfect place for us.

I would start by suggesting everyone to opt for a character-full Riad when staying in Marrakesh, instead of a boring anonymous hotels. Hotel design : gorgeous interiors and stylish decorations, located in a relatively quiet part of the old town, but close to main square and other interesting spots. Not directly facing a main street, therefore quiet during the day and night Room : welcoming, decorated, spacious bathroom (corner rooms). Terrace : magnificent,.A Perfect retreat to catch some quiet, during breakfast, to drink tea or smoke a water_pipe at night, or to sunbath in the sunny days. Food : large and freshly prepared breakfast and I had the pleasure to taste a superb cous cous for dinner. Staff : last but not least. I can only confirm the good reputation by sayin that the owner is a very good host, helpful and available while being discrete. He recommended us very nice activity and gave us all the needed tips and info to ensure a good time when exploring the city. Thank you Patrick! Highly recommended
It is actually not a negative comment about the Riad but more of a general note for those willing to stay in the old town : be prepared for early morning moschee chants, thin walls and some effort to find your way in the maze of small streets. To find the Riad you will need to ask directions : do it at the local stores and not by asking people on the street (otherwise expect to have to tip)
